Red Angus Foundation Inc. (RAFI) is committed to excellence in research and heritage preservation.

FOUNDATION OVERVIEW

Commitment to the American Cattle Industry

The Red Angus Foundation Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to the enhancement of the Red Angus breed through research, education, and the preservation of our agricultural legacy. We are committed to fostering innovation and supporting the next generation of cattle producers in their pursuit of excellence within the American cattle industry.

The Red Angus Foundation, Inc. (RAFI) was initially formed in 1995 to support the Junior Program. Approximately 15 years ago, Red Angus leadership reimagined how the Foundation could further assist the breed, its breeders, and their place in a profitable and sustainable agricultural industry. To this end, RAFI expanded its mission to include research and education in addition to its traditional support of juniors. Through resources obtained from generous donations, research has become one of RAFI's primary areas of impact, and it remains committed to funding peer-reviewed science to further the production of objective selection tools for economically important traits. Through sound science, RAFI strives to maintain the breed's tradition from 1954 when Red Angus formed an association that was the first organization in the beef industry ever incorporated based on the principles of performance testing. RAFI is proud of its 30-plus years of service to the breed, and excited about the impact RAFI will have on the future of the breed and the profitability of the breed's stakeholders within a thriving beef industry.
